Welcome to Radius Technologies (RADTech) – You have discovered the UK’s leading supplier of towers and masts, for meteorological and communication for onshore  (land) and offshore use (sea)

Our team, based in Kingston upon Thames, near London, is here to help you every step of the way from the design stage to the assembly, including instrumentation, and erection of your meteorological towers and communication masts.

You can have complete confidence in a company established in 1969 that has accumulated enormous experience in manufacturing products that meet the industries highest international standards. Our towers are used by every leading supplier of sustainable energy in some of the most demanding environments.

What makes us special.

Ever since its inception, the company has specialised in the production of steel towers. Today, the company supplies various types of towers to a wide range of industries where quality and safety are top priorities. We continuously develop our product range and adapt it to every need. All structures are structurally calculated and designed to meet current EU standards and official requirements. Specialist projects are one of our core strengths. We design and customise new structures for one-off projects. Our very flexible production unit ensures that towers for customised projects are produced at consistently high quality – even when innovative production methods or set-ups are required.

Accreditations and Certifications

Our quality accrediatations and certifications include ISO9001, ISO3842-2, EN1090-1

Area of Operation

We serve the entire world with our structures and have deployed met-tower in New Zealand, back-bone microwave link communication towers in Dominican Republic. RADTech primary area is the UK, Ireland and Middle East/Northern Africa. However we welcome enquiries form around the world.

RADTech supply towers to a wide variety of industries where quality and safety are top priorities.

Our primary products include:

  • Telecommunication towers, such as lattice towers, tubular towers, flagpoles and false chimneys.
  • Meteorological towers such as self-supporting towers, guy-wire towers for wind measurements. Onshore and offshore.
  • High-voltage towers and steel structures for high-voltage sub-stations.
  • Floodlight towers for illuminating public areas, roads and streets.
  • Overhead gantry system for highway traffic information.
  • Telescopic towers for various applications.
  • Towers for small wind turbines.

Some of our Clients

We have supplied communication towers for more than 48 years. The free-standing towers range, in height, from 2 to 186 meters, guyed tower from 12 to 400m and are designed to service the latest advances in the fast-moving world of telecommunications. Be it mobile systems for GSM/UMTS/LTI, Microwave Links, Short, Medium or Long Wave communication. In addition to the lattice form of construction we also supply monopolies and tubular towers usually in urban environments where there is a demand for the towers to be as unobtrusive as possible. With our communications towers, like all of our products, we are more than happy to develop, in close association with our clients, bespoke products designed to meet their specific demands.

No matter what kind of instrument you throw at us (gently) we can install it! Including… Wind Vanes – Anemometers – Precipitation Sensors – Barometers – Relative Humidity Sensors – Lighting – Fog Horns – Solar Panels – Wave Condition Monitors – Acoustic Wave and Current Profilers We leave the wiring of the cables into the instruments and data loggers to electronic engineers employed by the client. We lead the cables along the booms and down the tower and leave them neatly coiled above the data logger. We are very aware that instrumentation is something that needs to be carried out with the greatest care and precision.

In combinaiotn with offshore meteorlogical stations, these platforms and well suited to be used for a variety of oceanographic instrument applications. A selection of what we have deplpoyed in the past have been, CTD Probes, AWAC’s, multiple layer thermistors. Other aspects of platform use such as mamal detection/monitoring.

The medium duty telescopic tower range TES15 and TES21 is part of a family of towers designed to the latest BS, EU, DS and SE structural design specification. The tower range is suitable for a variety of operations. The range comes with a selection of exchangeable head-gear such as ring or star head frames for the cellular industry, slip ring, rotor head for radio amateurs, platforms for CCTV, side booms for anemometry etc. The tower slides on integrated phosphor bronze and stainless steel roller bearings preventing the tower ’sticking’ in high side winds. The tower will always be retractable regardless of the weather conditions. It’s features includes a end-position locking system preventing any wiggle of the sections when extended. This unique facility allows the tower deflection parameters to be as if it was a fixed tower, specifically for use as long range camera platform or radio links.

We are proud of our happy clients but have limited space so chosen 2 reviews for you. If you are interested in finding out more please get in touch.

Wood Group
Carl C lattice met masts, project managed by Radius Tech, will be deployed in the East Anglia Offshore Wind Zone! The Wood Group has been awarded a GBP 17 million management contract to fabricate, install, commission, operate and maintain two weather monitoring stations off the Norfolk and Suffolk coast. The project will be handled by the Wood Group Kenny Business Unit that will include SqurrEnergy. SqurrEnergy will manage the supply, installation and commissioning of the full instrumentation, power and ancillary topside monitoring equipment using Carl C lattice met masts. Fabrication and offshore installation management of the monopile structure to support the equipment platform and met mast will be undertaken by Wood Group Kenny. Manufacture of the meteorological (met) masts will start in November 2012 and installation in the East Anglia Offshore Wind Zone is planned for summer 2013

Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstration Project
Platform in 37m deep waters to validate wind conditions for the largest independent offshore wind demonstration site proposed in the UK. The National Renewable Energy Centre, Narec, has completed the installation of an offshore research and anemometry platform, three nautical miles off the coast of Blyth, Northumberland, next to the nearest shore array of the proposed 100MW capacity Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstration Site
